Finally, I have things worth speaking of. Firstly, I voted for the first time ever last Saturday. Being it my first time I obviously went in with the idea that my vote would totally make the difference. It didn't, Berlusconi's PDL won the majority, by far, once again. In fact the entirety of Europe seems to have definitley leant to the left. Fantastic. To celebrate the heart-warming news I went to see Dan Deacon last night. The first, and last time I saw him before this was at Cargo, London, 2 summers ago; supporting Gang Gang Dance. It was his second time every touring Europe. I remember having no idea who he was nor what to expect, and the event taking me completely by surprise.
This time by far outlived the past one. We had more space, more crowd, better strobe lighting and a far louder sound system. Although active the Deacon crowd seems to be incapable of causing any serious harm. I was accompanied by my petit asian friend who got kicked in the head several time by CRAZY CROWDSURFERS, yet every time she rose fully intact. The best part was by far the human tunnel; footaged in the video below:
For those who have been to paradiso before, we went all the way from inside Paradiso, onto the street, and back inside through the exit. It turned out slightly resembling an awkward dating system. I had to join hands with a "Magic Cards" shirt-wearing Greek guy for 10 minutes. He didn't really ask for my number though...nor my name.
I also discovered the wonderful joys of being 18 in The Netherlands. The possibility of sititing inside an Amsterdam coffee shop that plays dutch gangster music whilst staring at Cats that have seemingly been stoned for the past 9 years. The saddest part of the entire night was probably the level of excitement we reached when we heard "I'll Do You Like A Truck" playing in a local bar. Please, for your own sake, do not make Hersonisos your number 1 holiday location. Complete brainwash I tell you.
