I'm pretty sure everyone knows this picture of Ali and Terell. It was shot by Walter Iooss in 1961. Apparently he didn't even get this photo developed till about 20 years after he took it. I can't stop staring at it. It's so good. It makes me excited, not only is it technically good because of the perfect contrast and whatnot, but there's actually soemthing literally powerful going on. I can't even begin to compare this to any photo of any pretty looking chick "gazing deeply" into the camera. This is a moment worthy of being captured, really.
I've been thinking a lot about the concept of art in general, especially when it comes to photography. I dislike myself thinking about these things because I never get anywhere as I have no vast enough knowledge, but I'm just trying to assess my position on art (which I disregard nearly as much as I disregard sport, sadly) overall.
DISCOVERING ONESELF. LIFE. STUFF.
PS; I forgot to mention how thankful I am to South Park for ridiculing Kanye West (although I am mildly annoyed that I am going to be hearing the fishsticks joke repeatedly till the next episode comes out and people can make new referenced jokes)
